Our law practice is honoured to have Justice (Ret.) MPH Rubin as a senior consultant.

He was called to the Singapore Bar in 1974 and is also a member of the Bars of the State of Brunei Darussalam, the State of Western Australia and the State of Victoria in Australia. He was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple of England and Wales in 1987.

In 1974, he joined the law firm of David Marshall and became a Partner in 1976. Justice Rubin was appointed to the Bench of the Supreme Court of Singapore as a Judicial Commissioner in 1991 and was made a Judge in 1994. He retired from the Singapore Judiciary in February 2005.

Justice Rubin is at present a Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Law, a Senior Fellow at the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Diplomatic Academy, a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators.

Until recently, Justice Rubin was an Ambassador-at-Large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore and Singapore’s Ambassador to Hungary.

Justice Rubin was Chairman of the Syariah Court Appeal Board from1987 to 1991. He has served on various committees namely as Resource Panel member of the Government Parliamentary Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Law (1989 to 1990); Vice-Chairman of the Singapore Academy of Law, Law Reform Committee (1996 to 1997); Publications Committee (2001 to 2005) and Chairman of the Probation Committee (1997 to 2005).

In 2005, Justice Rubin was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal by the President of the Republic of Singapore for his contributions to the Singapore Judiciary.

Justice Rubin served as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to the Republic of South Africa from October 2005 to February 2009. He was also concurrently accredited to the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of Namibia, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Kingdom of Swaziland.

Justice Rubin was the High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to New Zealand from April 2009 to June 2012. He was also concurrently accredited to the Republic of the Fiji Islands from August 2010 to January 2012.

Justice Rubin has adjudicated a wide variety of civil and criminal cases as a High Court Judge.

Justice Rubin mentors young lawyers in our practice and provides invaluable critique and strategy for some of the complex cases we handle.

He takes appointments as arbitrator, mediator and advises on court work.
